  • opacity maps on standard materials - weird stuff

    Hi

This vegetation is on planes as defuse and opacity maps. They are making like shadows (I got them not to cast shadows) or transparency artifacts. Why is that?

    Thanks
    Guido.

It looks like you may have overlapping faces there; what is the geometry of the trees?

        Best regards,

Hi Vlado, thanks for the response.

They are just simple planes with standard materials with maps on deffuse and opacity.

If you want, here is the scene:

And an image of that file:

          Thanks again.
Note: if links don't work when you click on them, just copy and paste them in the browser. Sorry about that but I don' know what is it with that

I'm sorry natty, it's hard to find a server where I can put 1.5 MB. But I did!

So it's a version issue. Well, I 'm using 1.45.20. I guess I'm gonna have to check my download page for the next version. I'm using max 5 though, with a reeeeeeally slow machine, and I heard later versions of vray are slower. Is that right?

                  Thanks a lot natty
