  • Fast SSS vs alshader

Hi, i have a new project with an icecream/chocolate stuff, and i was wondering how should i approach it. With translucency i never managed to pull off anything, this workflow seems so weird for me. And i was testing sss + alshader. I cant control em either well. My only approach so far that seems to give me somewhat control is like a vrayvolumescatter in a blend material with glass coats to control the reflectivity/glossiness.
But any tips on fastsss2? I always end up with inverse colors or something weird i dont know, and i thought its a good time to ask for help here.

    Cheers,

Set the SSS mode to "scatter coefficient+fog color", keep the "scatter color" to grey and adjust the "sub-surface color"/"scatter radius" only. (This goes for the VRayScatterVolume material as well). This is closest to the "stuff-diluted-in-water" scenario for most foodstuff.
