Even though it works, DR isn't really meant to be used this way, mainly due to the bandwidth restrictions you mention. When the internet is all 100Mbit someday though.....
Yeah, that's wat I thought, well maybe in a couple of years or so, ugh?

However I though a few years ago that by 2004 we would have T1 for $50 a month, but somehow true high speed internet is rolling out too slow for some of us.

In the meantime, I think that this is great DR feature for remote farming of large (final) renderings without having to manually upload files remotely, etc.

Mmm, we have 100Mbit here in Sweden. Costs 80bucks a month I think. Myself I only have measly 10Mbit for 30 dollars/month.
But large parts of the rest of the world seem to be stuttering.

A T1 is actually only 1.5 MBit so lots of us have a lot faster connections available to us, both at home and at the office. I have an ADSL connection here at home that is over twice as fast as a T1. It's still not very fast for large files though. A scene with all the textures will still take a while.

yes in sweden perhaps, you can get cheap broadband.
In Denmark you can get around 2mbit/128kb(up wich really sucks when you need it for things like this) for twice that ( 2 * 30 dollars )

it´s quiet useless as we know that v1.1 was not released and v1.5 will also never be released.

we wills see a beta marathon with decreasing numbers.

                      version x -> limes 1.5

Is there even a point to your Posts Long John? No offense, but repeating this over and over again is not helping anyone.
Go and contribute with anything meaningful instead. Yes posting a few times that you are angry because 1.1 is late has a point, but "every" day?
Go write a VRay tutorial instead or contribute in some other way.

there was a saying that we used to say in architecture school all the time...

"It is much easier to be an architecture critic then to be an architect."

or "it is easier to be a sayer then a doer"

or "artists that complain about the quality of their brushes are artists that don't paint."

                              ....

I find it funny that people can make conclusion about others based on what they post on a internet forum.

I read a few times that VRay 1.5 will be out soon.
Reading this again and again seems not worth a complain?

Im not participating in these threads and i don´t care much, but reading this is like listening to people who discuss the 2004 election in the USA.

If they have no other arguments then they insult eachother.

I think both sides have a good point.

                                1) Vray is well known for delayes and release dates are worth nothing.

                                2) Some here are annoying with their never ending complains.
