  • Settings problem for contrast textures on furniture.

I rendered two pictures http://www.hot.ee/mindrivers/kitchen_0.jpg with one settings
http://www.hot.ee/mindrivers/render_dialog.jpg and my problem with second picture.
Problem is that I cant light shelves on my kitchen in dark places(picture 2)
If I rise dark multiplayer - my white table and doors near window on the furniture become white. White as hole. And dark wood textures also become bright. If I put another vray light for dark places on my picture - I will get some not realistic shadows to the window. If I switch off shadow settings on this light something lose on picture. It become non realistic.
Does anyone render scenes with very contrast textures? White wood with very dark wood?
I understand that it is possible to solve this problem in photoshop, but any suggestion for the pure render?

Are you using all vraymaterials? photon map will only calculate secondary bounces for vraymaterials.

Yes, I am using all vray material. When I started this project I desided to render it with vray renderer therefore I using only vray materials....

Sometimes dark is just dark. It looks natural to me. Light in those areas is completely from interdiffuse reflection and the light that bounces off the surfaces is not going to be much from such dark surfaces.

What color mapping are you using? What multiplier are you using for Secondary bounces?

        Wonderful work BTW.

          I used Exponental color mapping with 1,0, 1,0 settings. Sec.bounce is 1.0

Maybe try raising the dark multiplier and see how it looks.
