  • aghhhh, prob with texture & alpha maps on 2d planes

    hi,

having a weird prob, I have a 2D plane that has texture and alpha maps mapped ot it, as seen on the image I can see the top edge of the plane,

I am using Max Std material but I have had some probs tih coloured splotches in the renders so i need to use the Vray mat, just to confirm I put the alpha in the Refract slot (1.09) and se the ior to 1?

I know the advantages of using 1.46 but I need this out the door this week and then I will install the upgrade when I have some downtime.

    any help is appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Tom

Try setting your tilling to a little less than 1 for V . This looks like an old Max issue that I believe only happens with Pyramidal Filtering.

yep Trapezium that did the trick, I wasnt looking at it as the image repeating itself I immediately thought it was a shadow/edge issue,
        thanks for the tip

No problem Yeah, I think it's just something like the blurred pixels of the repeated image like you said.

Just unchecking "tile" should fix it too, without changing the mapping
