  • Vray settings presets box

Is there anyway to share the vray settings presets with other machines. I noticed you cant change the path as the browser button is grayed out.

And why is the Vray Fur been talked about in the manual yet we cant find it to install following the instruction. We have Vray advanced.

    Thanks in advanced guys.

    hi JHalton

what vray-version (build) are you running?
it must be build 1.4x or higher to take advantage of the vrayfur-function.

yes, I really want to know how to change the presets path.

I'm digging around right now to try and figure out how to edit the path.

If I save a preset I want my coworkers to be able to access it.

Currently, I have to find the file, copy it to another's machine and have them rename their old one so they don't completely loose their settings. then they have to restart max.

      Hmmmmm, That's efficient.

Let me know if you know how to just change the path to a shared drive.

Use Max's built in "render Presets" works great with V-Ray

You can change the path in Max's "configure paths"

loading max presets kills your entries in reaction manager

But be careful with loading max render presets. It kills all your entries in reaction manager. So better beware of using it if you animate with reaction manager.

              vray preset manager
you can save the presets as .ini files, and you can exclude certain parts of vray from being saved (license tab or other stuff like bucket size)

dont know if it works with max 7/8 or the current vray builds tho'
