  • Vray Displacement on Carpet with breaks

Still have not figured out why I am getting sudden breaks in displacement on some objects just like the one on the enclosed image

Both the floor and the grass are simple 2D polylines extruded up and mapped. I am using 2D VrayDisplacement. Default MAX displacement is turned OFF. I have tried Tight Bounds option both checked and unchecked - no difference. It is not a smoothing issue either, I have applied Smooth modifier to remove all Smoothing groups before Displacement. Adaptive Subdivision -1/+1 Threshold 0.1. Any ideas ?

if you're not already, try using a standard material for the color, and select Faceted.. that has a tendency to clear up a lot of my various Displacement oddities.

Using box mapping also seems to fix that particular error, even if mapping a plane.
