Hi guys,
just have new quest since yesterday.
I watched the latest Ty Evans skateboard movie (Ty Evans is a legend when it comes to action sport films, especially skateboard movies and always have a heavy load of crazy film gear and cutting edge technique)
In case you don`t know what i'm talking about you should check out the Flat earth trailer right here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2vKd6FbXd8
In the movie there a plenty of incredible shots but i'm most hyped 'bout that crazy wideangle shots in there.
When you buy the full movie via itunes you also get a 20minute documentary about his filming gear which is pretty awesome to watch also.
After a little recherche i found out what lens he is using for the awesome wide angle view.
It's the The Arri/ Zeiss Ultra Prime 8R lens. As i only have minor film gear knowledge i never heard about such lenses before but you can see the resut here:
https://vimeo.com/79506918
The thing is and maybe you also recognize it in the results that those lenses aren`t just regular fisheye's,
hehe just google prices... it`s like 20-30K. Huh!
It's a wide angle lense without distortion, so... and thats my question how to achieve that?
I`m scratching my head how they achive that in real life but what itches me even more is how to re-create that in vray.
Whats your 2 cent about that?
Is a vrlens file needed? and naah i don`t that Ultra prime lens at my hands and probsbly never will...
Just counter act with distortion?
Somebody messed around with such stuff before? looking forward what your approach would be.
Thanks in advance
