    I don't think curvature or dirt maps are relevant to the topic of random scratches.

    I think the idea was to discuss the scratches that appear around specular highlights.

    Its easy to plug in a bump map in that can be seen generally but making those car paint style scratches that are only seen in a hot highlight is hard. The only way I think to do it is by following the layered shader tutorial or by generating a single, high quality Normal Map with 3 levels of scale for the scratches.

        I will try this one out. I would love a scratches operator that comes with V-Ray. Also many scratches generators dont factor in the multiple layers of different sized scratches.
