  • How does VRayVelocity Element work?

I have a camera linked to a car travelling down a dirt road. Rendering with blur in Max, the car wouldn't blur because it's linked. If I use the VRayVelocity with default settings, would the velocity include the car as well? Does it take the camera's view of the velocity into effect? If that's the case, is there anyway to stop the car from blurring in post?

The VRayVelocity render element should take into account camera motion (i.e. you should only get the velocity of the object relative to the camera).

    Best regards,
    Vlado

I actually just hit send on an email to support, but these are the images. The unblurred, the VRayVelocity pass (with the camera linked to the car) and then the blur added in After Effects with ReelSmart Motion Blur.

I had to use a different method in AE with RSMB which you can see in my last post here: https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...9567-rsmb-vray

Thanks, I'll give it a shot and see if I can get it to work.
