I have no other materials in the scene, nor no material on objects.

well, these extreme white or colorful spots are really annoying! also because the lens effect will create an extreme flare on these spots, so the whole render element is unusable...

no, unfortunately not. I got a response from the support, that this IS a bug... so they are working on it, I hope.

Ah...Thanks for letting me know
I was hoping it wasn't something random that I've been using in my scenes.
Let's hope there's a fix soon...especially after the costly upgrade!
