  • GGX and Vray Next GPU IPR - Doesn't work

    So GGX doesn't work at all with Vray Next GPU IPR mode? Is it not supported or is it just broken?

    How has nobody else not noticed this?

    I'm using max 2018 sp4

    I'm not sure what do you mean - could you elaborate what doesn't work for you regarding GGX ?

      Hi Yavor,

      if you change the ggx value from 2 to 4 or to 20... or to any number.... it doesn't change the render at all in gpu IPR. If you change the value in vray next ipr it works as expected.

      even next gpu as production render works as expected... it's just gpu IPR that has no visual affect at all when changing the ggx value.

        You are talking about the GTR tail falloff value, right? Works just fine in my tests. If you have a scene where it doesn't - please send it over.
        If it was that easy, it would have already been done

          Thanks Peter, just did a test on a brand new scene and it worked fine. And just tested the scene where it was broken and it is now working fine there as well.... I think max just needed a re-start.

          Sorry! Should have done some more thorough testing before bothering you guys.
