did you try and run a v-ray scene converter?
    It should get those fixed.

Yes if time is a constraint I too have been using the V-Ray scene converter.

If I do have the time then I have a new material library where I recreated all of my old standard or most common materials like chrome, stainless steel, and other basic materials and using that, I go through the scene and change out all the materials with the new ones I re-created.

Given the problems I've run in to lately with V-Ray and 3ds max and some other scripts/plug-ins, I have trust issued with any kind of automated tools lately and prefer to do a lot manually like using the materials I recreated, as I believe Lele suggested above as the better option as well.

Hi, I have a similar problem with old demo scenes.
Question: After you exchanged the Materials into new ones, how did you get rid of the old nodes with "unlocked highlight and glossiness"?
As far as I know there is no "delete unused nodes" in Max.
Or any other tips on this topic?

        Many thanks,
        Ben

Did you run the V-Ray scene converter on those scenes?
It should fix that kind of stuff automagically.

joconnels script don´t work here, but this did the job:

for m in getclassinstances vrayMtl do m.reflection_lockGlossiness = true

            Greetings
