  • Refraction issue - V-Ray Adv 3.60.03 - 3ds Max 2017.1

    Hi!

We have a user who's reported the following issue with refraction when trying to render glass material:

    Hi,

I have a problem with the refraction in the glass material, it doesn’t turn out white as the background.

    The Affect background is off

    Environment is white.

Even when a light source is behind the glass, it still becomes grey except for the reflection .

I have change the glass material and object, but is renders out grey.

I have tried to set the reflection/refraction environment to white.

Only thing I could do is take a sky in the reflection/refraction environment slot and change the multiplier value for the wright amount of refraction true the glass.

But this is not the normal way to handle the refraction.
I have taken the 3dsmax file and the rendered images and placed them here:

Hopefully you can help us out with this issue.

    Thank you!

Refraction color is actually accurate, the difference comes from the fact that Affect Background is disabled thus Background color is not color corrected as the one visible though refraction.
If you would like to unify the color it's necessary to enable Affect Background color and adjust relevant parameters to make the color brighter.
