Not sure why, but Lens effect never works for. i was hoping with the new vray, I would be as easy as enabling render, but nothing. What's the trick?

There is no trick. Just turn them on.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

I've turned it on and no results. Is it based on vraylights, does it look for emissive materials to generate glare?

It's based on pixel values. Can you send me a scene? It will be way faster than guessing

Are you using Exponential color mapping or Reinhard with low Burn value? I'm guessing this since I saw your other thread with the washed out rendering where you said you didn't use sRGB and linear workflow. If you do use Exponential or Reinhard with low Burn value, your pixel intensity values will be way down and lens effects rely on pixel values larger than 1 to work as expected. Try switching to Reinhard with Multiplier and Burn values set to 1 or to Linear Multiply with Dark and Bright multipliers of 1. You'll also need to switch to linear workflow. I commented in your other thread how to do that.

It's a sign that your lighting is off. Crank your lights to real-world values and expose with your camera, again with real-world values.

I think it would be a good idea to remove the color mapping values entirely from the interface. It seems this is still a huge source for user errors after all these years. All the stuff that can be achieved with these settings can easily be done inside the VFB.

Ha...It's always good to re-evaluate ones process. Changing my burn value from .08 to 1 made the difference. Getting the lens flares.

The floor is full of denoising artifcats, and it is a mushy mess. Are these final images you are delivering to your client?

Glad you noticed. This was a test file. I've posted the issue with denoiser artifacts. Never had this issue before updating to VrayNext.

The denoiser is exactly the same in Next as it was in 3.6 and still had the same issues. I have some plans to improve it for Update 2.

                          Best regards,
                          Vlado
