  • VRayHairFarmMod of V-RayNext is incorrect

The rendering of VRayHairFarmMod differs between V-Ray 3 and V-RayNext.

    I attached a sample scene.

Could you give some advice please?

Will check what's going on. Thanks for the tip!
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Hi, yes we had to change the behavior so we could support the hair objects instancing. The old behavior was also modifying the scene which was undesirable. We will handle this case in the future.

            Best regards,

Is the behavior of V-Ray Next correct? Is that not a bug? (Can handle hair instances)
Does dealing with this problem in the future mean it will be fixed?

Isn't it a bug after all?

Hi, yes considering that you expect the source geometry to be rendered too it's a bug. We will be fixing this, the problem is that the change won't be that easy to make. As a workaround the geometry could be cloned, but that won't work for heavy geometries.

                Best regards,
                Alexander

Although resolvable with replication, the same behavior as V-Ray 3 is desirable.
                  Expect correction
