  • Show Horizon Line

I believe I mentioned it before, but when I click to show horizon line, in the V-Ray Camera, nothing happens. The E is also chopped off, which isn't a big deal.

Looks fine on my end. Could it be that the camera is below the ground plane (in which case the horizon line wont be shown)?

No, that's not it. It works on some and not on others.

It works fine here too, every time, and there is no UI issue either.
It won't show you an horizon line if the camera isn't looking at one (ie, look up or down.).
It's rotation and position, which determine if it can be seen.

A camera at 170 cm in height, looking at something at 1mt in height, will likely show you no horizon line (it's also dependent on the proportions for the camera output.).

Physical camera works fine. I prefer the V-Ray Camera and most of the time the horizon works, but others it doesn't. Here is the file with just the camera.

The file is corrupt, somehow, and will not show the camera's horizon line, as you said, for the camera you had already created, or for any other created in any way later on.
            Resetting max fixes it.
Merging a working camera also works with your file.

Are you using plugins and scripts with this scene, and if so which ones?

Yes, I use a script to convert a physical camera to a V-Ray camera. I tried deleting the created V-Ray camera and manually placing and aligning, but as you said, it doesn't help. I didn't associate it to the script because most of the time it works just fine.

It would stand to reason that's the culprit, but i'll try and look into it.

You're a bug hunter, Bobby, thanks a lot!
The script does nothing odd, it's our own maxscript method, vrayCreateVRayPhysicalCamera(), which creates cameras for which the horizon line doesn't work.
I'm passing this thread to support.

                  Thanks again Bobby!
