  • Lens effects overlapping cube faces on 6x1 render

When rendering using 6x1 cube, the lens effects do not respect the boundaries of the cube, causing unusable results.
The lens effects should be mapped to the cube faces also.

Thanks for the report. Our developers are already informed about the issue and work has started on the improvement request. I'll additionally bump its priority.

The bigger problem here is that anti-aliasing should be ignored between the cube faces.
Currently when there is a big difference in luminosity between 2 cube faces (for example one bright face and one dark) then the anti-aliasing sampling means that you end up with bright anti-aliased pixels invading into neighbouring cube faces. This ends up as bright vertical and horizontal lines all over the panorama when viewing in VR, which requires a lot of post to clean up.

360s should still be rendered without filtering.

            you're welcome.
looking through the googles it should not be a problem.
web browser viewers would smooth things out as well.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but was this bug with lens effects fixed when rendering with cube 6x1 camera?

                Hi olly,

This has been fixed recently and implemented in our V-Ray 5 internal builds, should be out with a future update.
