  • Glass reflection

Is there a way to get rid of glass reflecting in the glass? I have an apartment interior that has windows reflecting on other windows and the client wants them removed. I am not sure if this is even possible, without turning off the glass.

Trace sets don't seem to work. I exclude the one from the other, but it still reflects.

Okay, it isn't the glass reflection happening, it is the sky. I'll have to figure something out.

I had to copy my window backplate around until it blocked that sky reflection. All is good now.

On a side note. How did you get your buckets to be different color in the VFB? Is it a setting? Possible a Vray 5 option?

Yes, you can change this in the VFB settings. It's a new option that was introduced with Vray 5.

Yeah, the bucket colors were that way by default.

I always wire the HDRI (instanced) through an output map for domelight, background, env. reflection and env. refraction separately, so you can perfectly tune these components.

What is the point of these different colors? Useful for render farms?

Definitely most useful for DR since you get one color per node. At first I found them distracting for normal rendering with a ton of cores on a single machine. Eventually, I decided I kinda like them, but they definitely can influence your perception (put one color next to something and it will make you see the compliment). The option can be turned off, setting them back to the grey squares they used to be.

Thanks, I was mostly curious whether they had any purpose on a single machine, but it doesn't sound like it.
