  • No visual means to perform a crop within a VrayBitmap

    Hi,
either i am missing something important or there is no visual means to perform a crop within a vraybitmap node.
in max bitmap when you tick CROP you get a red rectangle to place over desired area meant for cropping.
How is it meant to be done in VrayBitmap? Surely not by numbers and spinners that woudl be quite crazy.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers

2nd this. I don't understand how this is supposed to work. I've resorted to doing it twice when I have to crop it, once in the regular bitmap to get the numbers and then plug them in to the VrayBitmap(HDRI).

Yeah, I also stumbled across this limitation and was stumped.

Yes, I notice this too, really annoying. I used IPR to crop it with sliders right with VFB, but its not a good way.

in a project where there is a lot of cropping to be done this issue is a real bummer.
Kind of wondering whether this was left out by intention or its a bug.

I remember mentioning that in past so it would be great to add as I'm using now Vray bitmap more and more .
creating Bitmap then convert it to VrayBitmap using the scene converter is a workaround for now .

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

Could anyone from Chaos please give us some input? This is somewhat expected feature that seems to have been ommited.
Any ETA on a fix please?

This was also in the vrayhdri map. I mentioned it a couple of years ago....

Easiest way for me is to use a standard bitmap map and then run the vray scene convertor at the end (to make sure there isn't anything else in the scene).

We are coming from Corona Render, and we´ve just faced this issue... I just can´t believe that there is no way to visually perfom a CROP/PLACE inside VrayBitmap. That just makes no sense to me. Real bummer as you coment.

Hi guys, thank you all for the input. I've prepared a request to add this possibility in VRayBitmap (internal ID number: VMAX-10373) and our devs will definitely look into it. We will let you know when there are any updates on the matter.

It's implemented and you'll see it officially in Update 1 (scheduled for Q1 2021). If you need it before that, we will merge it in the stable nightlies.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

I never complain, but that this function is missing until today is really unbelievable. Such a basic function must not be missing.

Nikoleta, thank you for all your efforts.

If you can then yes, please implement in the nightlies. Let us know which version has it available. Thanks.
