Thanks for the provided scene. Everything seems to be working fine. It is possibly a viewport hiccup since the diffuse filter and multimatte passes are next to each other. Does it save correctly on your end?

I don't know, but I often see strange stuff happening with channels in Vray 5. Here's an older thread of mine where again strange stuff happened with MultiMateElement.

I cannot seem to reproduce it with the described steps. Do tell if you are able to, so we can investigate and try the suggested solution from the other topic.

Ok, I'll try to keep an eye and remember what triggers this.

I just did a region render and everything outside the region in the rgb color channel appeared just like diffusefilter. very strange.

Same here! The problem occurred when I did a region render. Maybe that's what triggers the bug?

Seems to be something to do with the denoiser. If I have a region going and the denoiser kicks in, it switches the area outside the region to something from a different pass. If I slide the denoiser opacity down, so disappears the mystery pass...

I'm afraid this scene cannot be shared. But i'll see if I can strip it down for you.
