  • Displacement problems using UVWRandomizer (GPU)

In V-Ray 5 GPU, I get wonky artefacts when using UVWrandomizer as a mapping source for the displacement map. Displacement works normally if UVWrandomizer isn't used. I'm only using the UVWrandomizer with default values and purely to drive tiling (no randomization and no stochastic tiling)
Same problem with 3D and 2D displacement. Same problem regardless of which displacement map I use, including TIF, PNG and JPG.
If the displacement map is plugged into the diffuse slot of the material, I don't see any artefact.
This is using a nightly version of Hotfix 2 (5.99.06 build 30295) in Max 2021.
I have a Max 2021 scene ready to share. Let me know who I should send it to.

      Hi, BBB3

Thanks for the provided scene files. We are aware of the issue and it is in the process of being fixed. I'll make sure to notify you when we have a stable release.

We seem to be encountering this same issue in Max 2024 with VRay GPU 6, update 2. The UVW randomizer seems to be ignoring that there is no rotation value, but only for the displacement map for whatever reason. Works as intended in VRay CPU.

Hi anthony_billet and apologies for the late reply.

The original issue described in this ticket is fixed and working fine in the latest update. I've tested on a simpler setup and cannot seem to reproduce your problem but I am probably overseeing something - can you please forward a simple (stripped down) scene to support with all the necessary assets, so we can have a look? Much appreciated.
