That MR thickness features was pretty sweet. If I remember it could work with opacity mapped surfaces too? Wasn't the 'tech' copyrighted or something? I vaguely remember some people asking for this feature yeeeaaars ago

For the moment, what I've done is just to enable the fog in thin-walled mode, and the surface is assumed to have the thickness specified by the fog distance parameter. The thin-walled fog effect also takes into account the IOR to calculate the distance a refracted ray would have traveled through a surface with the given thickness. The result matches quite closely an actual shelled surface (i.e. the thin-walled fog approach compared to the regular fog with shelled teapot with the same shell thickness as the fog depth). It's a subtle difference, but it can help quite a bit.

        Best regards,

Great! It's in the stable and nightly builds already; if you can play with it and let me know what you think, it would be great!

            Best regards,

is there any chance that when this is all sorted, it could be explained clearly in the docs or a new correct workflow for foliage etc?

                Yep.
Sameish process as with features that go through proper beta, i guess.
We're working as hard as we can on the docs as well.
We could defo use clones, know anyone which sells the service, CaaS? ^^

Is it wise to ask for a clone of yourself Lele?
You just may get more than you bargained for......

It'd get its own room, and specific, high-load tasks to accomplish for batches of two weeks at a time.
Would get fed daily through a small opening through the door.
Result of work would come through the same tiny portcullis, in or around (ah-ah.) deadline time.

Ahahah, the beauty of imagination is that it won't get to become reality.
Plus, during a pandemic, i doubt he'd mind the little physical human contact at all. I know i don't.
