  • Cosmos browser slows down the start of 3dsMAX when Internet connection is absent

When I start 3DS Max it needs about 35 seconds to show the complete UI. But after that again the "hour glass" (blue ring) is visible and I have to wait one more minute till I can begin to open a scene. After a long time of investigation I found, that the Cosmos browser slows down the start of 3dsMax. In the end I found the hint in the Max Log file. Instantly I knew that the course was my absent Internet connection. I use to borrow the VRay licence to be able to work on my workstation without internet connection. After I connected the workstation to the Internet the"hour glass" is showed now only three seconds and the starting time is quite normal.
My question is: Is there a way to switch off the Cosmos browser as long I don't need it? Or can I prevent, that the Cosmos browser tests the Internet connection? Could you please remove the loading of the cosmos browser from the start up in the next hotfix?

Disabling the "CCBService" in the Services tab of the Task Manager should interrupt Chaos Cosmos' connection. Try disabling it and see if the slowdown is resolved; you can re-enable the service once your internet connection is stable.

Thank you, Aleksander, this works! Now the starting time is normal (about 35 sec) and I will enable it when I need it or if I want to explore this new feature. Now only the slow CME or SME slows my workflow down....
