The VRayUVWRandomizer requires a "Mapping source" input, which the 3ds Max native noise map does not have. You may bake the noise tex (right-click in ME>Render Map) and use the image through a VRayBitmap if you wish.

The CoronaUVWRandomizer works in a different matter (as an intermediary node), hence why procedural textures work with it. I'll mention the suggestion to our developers and we'll see if we can implement such a functionality in the VRayUVWRandomizer too.

I echo that this is something I've often wished for as I use the noise map ALL the time. Please mention it to dev team!

You could add the idea to the Portal so people can vote on it.

It may not be exactly what you need, but Jonas Noell had a great tip about using a noise map with a VrayTriplanar map to get some random variation (starts at 8:30):

                www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.
