AND ryzen threadripper 3990x Ram Maxing out issue

Hi Guys,

I am running into a Ram maxing out issue, with our thread ripper machine

on a Ryzen 5950x 64gb of ram a scene renders fine with ram sitting about 55gb between 80-90% steady,

However on a machine with thread ripper 3990x 64gb of ram it maxes out 100% and also the m.2 ssd is on 100% also (thinking because its trying to use ssd to help with ram)

we upgraded the ram to 128gb and it still maxes out ram and ssd

causes render times to not finish freezing up the machine


any ides what the issue could be?

Are you rendering an identical scene?

Alex's question is quite apt: if you changed, f.e., resolution on the second machine, and you had, f.e. .TX files, displacement with edge length in pixels, and so on, the memory requirements may change, even a lot.
The render log should provide for info on where the memory is being used.

both computers are rendering identical scene and settings
