  • EXR and Tiff Render elements composite don't match up with Render

    Hi,

So I'm trying to match up my render in 3DS Max and vray into Photoshop. I've saved ordered the EXR as follows
    • First image is as it is in the frame buffer
    • Second Image is the RGB output
    • Third image I have two red circles where the render element composite doesn't match.
Any help would be great. Thank you. If needs be I can upload the PSD. I've also tried to composite 16 bit Tiff's with even worse luck.

I'm going to investigate the Denoiser, as I believe that might be causeing the differences.

RGBA is the non-denoised version of the image (i.e. straight out of the renderer.).
The REs have been denoised, so they recomp to the denoised version, equivalent to the RGBA+denoiser (as you linked), or the VRayDenoiser RE in the framebuffer.

      Thanks for the reply.

      That make sense.

So here are both images RGB and then RGB with denoise.
However, in the composite the yellow colour in the pencil disappears. See previous post image 3. any ideas why that changes? i don't think the Denoiser is changing that?

Never mind. Just checked the material and it wasn't a vray material so just converted it to one and it fixed the problem.

Is there any way to add a denoiser onto the composite and change it's strength?

If your .exr is a multichannel one, just load it in the VFB and the composite layers should be available for adjustments. Otherwise, you may use the vdenoise.exe tool to denoise the original RGB with new settings.
