  • Warning pop-up: "VRayPluginNode: unsupported plugin(s) detected"

    Hello everyone,

I updated from V-Ray 5.2.2 to V-Ray 6 but I found a snag: if I open a scene, I get a "VRayPluginNode: unsupported plugin(s) detected" pop-up. A quick search uncovered this thread, and so I removed all affected material nodes from scenes, materials, and material libraries.

However I primarly work with XRefs, and either 3ds Max or V-Ray are particularly stubborn and still think there are those unsupported plug-ins in the scene, even if all materials are XRefs and the source objects don't have any of those plug-ins anymore.
I tried creating a scene from scratch, and the pop-up doesn't appear, so something is left in the scene containing the XRefs somewhere, but I don't really know where.
The only solution I've found would be to remove the affected XRefs and relink them, but I'd have to do that on 469 files (no joke) and resubmit them to Deadline for rendering.

I can live with the pop-up when loading the scene but Deadline is the real problem here, because it flags the render as failed the moment the pop-up...pops out. I tried enabling silent mode in Deadline, but nope, the pop-up is still there causing the error.

Is there a way to silence the "VRayPluginNode: unsupported plugin(s) detected" forever, so that neither loading the scene in 3ds Max or through Deadline causes it to appear? I already asked Deadline support if there's something I can do there but still have to receive a reply.

Deadline has some Ignore Error options. Try enabling them.

That's what I'm trying to do...Deadline support suggested to add a line in the plug-in to handle/ignore the pop-up but Deadline is still unable to correctly interact with the pop-up.
      https://docs.thinkboxsoftware.com/pr...s-and-handlers

I'm still waiting from their support on the errors I'm getting, but reading through some more documentation it's suggested that the handling of the pop-up might be going wrong because the title of the pop-up and the button on it show "Warning" and "OK" respectively but the code behind them is using different names.

So, my question is: is the name of the pop-up really "Warning" and its button "OK" or the code behind them is using different names?

According to the devs, the pop-up is a standard windows one. We looked it up and it should be "OK". So, "Warning;OK" should work. you can try with [X] as well.

Issue solved on Deadline's side. Updated Deadline and the 3ds Max plug-in to the latest version and that took care of the plug-in. Happy
