  • Rcp point cloud scanner file don't want to render

Hello, I'm trying to render a point cloud by assigning a vray material with a vraytopointcloud map in the illumination slot, but it render black and white instead of colors included into the rcp file when using pixel size, and grey when used real world scale set to 3mm (5mm render black, 1mm render white)
What I'm doing wrong here, it was looking straight forward but I probably miss something important.
The file is RCP file but the same behaviours occur with a E57 file.
    Thanks for your input.

I think the VRayPointCloudColor node is used for color corrections; the point cloud should render fine without it. Check your Point Cloud settings or try to preview the file elsewhere.

Nope, it doesn't help. There is a .diff in the same folder, should I load this one in max to be able to render it with colors?

I attached the link to the RCP file.

What do you mean preview the file elsewhere? I can see the RCP in the max windows including the colors without problem as pixel or as real world scale.

I wanted to determine if the issue lay in the .rcs file itself. Anyway, the file renders fine on my end. Make sure you apply the VRayMtl shader to the Point Cloud.

When the file is launched directly into a new scene, the rendering works fine, so my scene is probably corrupt.
But the color are really washout, it did not reflect the preview.
The cursor value did not change anything, the RCP is always so whashout that it looks almost grey.
Using the curve I can get the grey look smore green, or more blue or more yellow, so the map is assigned to the point cloud for sure.

Ok, found it, it must used pixel size and not real world scale
