I think I found out why people got insanely huge vray log files (in the range of gigabytes)
I created a circle, extruded it, added an epoly modifier on it, inset one of the big faces, extruded that, and added a uvw mapping and vray displacement mod. Assigned my map, 2d mapping, hit render.
It goes through the calculations slowly, and throws these two lines over and over and over in the log window:
My log file hit 15MB in under a minute.
