  • Maxscript Add "vrayextratex" renderelement , automatically default to "VrayExtraTex + Map name"

    Is there a reason why I can't name the ExtraTex RenderElements? It seems to override the specified name

    I am looking to add a bunch of ExtraTex maps

    Code:
    vrayre=maxOps.GetCurRenderElementMgr()
    vrayre.addrenderelement (VrayExtraTex elementName:("VrayDirt1_") texture:(VrayDirt()))
    vrayre.addrenderelement (VrayExtraTex elementName:("VrayDirt2_") texture:(VrayDirt()))
    vrayre.addrenderelement (VrayExtraTex elementName:("VrayDirt3_") texture:(VrayDirt()))
    vrayre.addrenderelement (VrayExtraTex elementName:("VrayDirt4_") texture:(VrayDirt()))
    vrayre.addrenderelement (VrayExtraTex elementName:("VrayDirt5_") texture:(VrayDirt()))

    Thanks,

    Ivor

    It seems adding a texture to the VRayExtraTexRE overrides its name. If you set the elementName after the texture it should work. Like so:
    Code:
    vrayre.addrenderelement (VrayExtraTex texture:(VrayDirt()) elementName:("VrayDirt1_"))

      If not, create the RE, and in a new line, rename it.
      Inline can be finnicky in MXS.
