Has Chaos Scatter Edge Trimming and Forest Pack Boundary Edge mode been fixed in V-Ray 6, update 2 and Vantage 2.2.1? I thought I read somewhere in the forum that it was fixed but when I installed V-Ray 6, update 2 Edge Trimming and Boundary Edge mode was still not working. I currently have Vantage 2.2.1 and V-Ray 6, update 1.2 installed and Edge Trimming and Boundary Edge mode is working as expected.

Hi, thanks for posting. Forest Pack's edge trimming works with V-Ray 6.2 in 3ds Max. It does not work in Vantage, this is a known issue (LAV-1444) and is making good progress. Please check this thread as well.
I will check what is the situation with Chaos Scatter's edge trimming. From what I've tested it does not work with V-Ray 6.2 in 3ds Max 2024.2. I will investigate a bit further and get back to the thread.

Hi, it turned out Chaos Scatter does not trim boxes and this is exactly what I tested in my previous post.
The edge trimming works in a real life scenario (grass). This is in IPR:
The issue with boxes is because of a limitation - single element objects can not be trimmed. This is true for groups and hierarchies when the objects inside consist of only one element.
We have an issue report about this (VMAX-13837) and it is going to be fixed at some point.
Both V-Ray CPU and V-Ray GPU render the Scatter as in the example above. Edge trimming does not work in Vantage.
Could you share your case where Chaos Scatter edge trimming did not work? This information could be useful for the development.

I attached/embedded 5 screenshots where V-Ray 6, update 1.2 and Vantage 2.2.0 is installed and V-Ray 6, update 2 and Vantage 2.2.2 is installed.
Photo 1 shows FP Edge Boundary Checking working when V-Ray 6, update 1.2 and Vantage 2.2.0 are installed. Opacity Mapping Enabled/Disabled
Photo 2 shows FP Edge Boundary Checking working with Opacity Mapping working when V-Ray 6, update 1.2 and Vantage 2.2.0 are installed. Opacity Mapping Enabled/Disabled
Photo 3 shows FP Edge Boundary Checking and CS Edge Trimming working when V-Ray 6, update 1.2 and Vantage 2.2.0 are installed.
Photo 4 shows FP Edge Boundary Checking and CS Edge Trimming working when V-Ray 6, update 2 and Vantage 2.2.2 are installed. Block 1(FP Edge On) and Block 2(CS Edge On) saved from 3ds Max 2023 V-Ray 6, update 1.2 and Vantage 2.2.0, Block 3(CS Edge Off), Block 4(FP Edge Off) and Block 5(FP Edge On) added as New in 3ds Max 2024. Opacity Mapping not displaying is Vantage but appears to be working. No affect with CS Edge Trimming regardless of being disabled or enabled.
Photo 5 shows CS Edge Trimming on(Grass Lawn 001) and off(Grass Lawn 002) with no change in Edge trim. 5 Photos

Hi, the boundary checking in edge mode (as well as point and size modes) works in V-Ray 6.2.
Vantage is another matter but I see you have been answered about this in your other thread.
Keep in mind it won't work for proxies. You need use meshes as instanced objects if you want to use it.
iToo page about that - https://docs.itoosoft.com/forestpack...t-plugin/areas
Below is a gif I did to illustrate how edge mode works:
