  • Distributed rendering - some DR buckets are offset by a few pixels

I've got a scene where the buckets of the DR servers render slightly differently. To be more precise, they are offset on the Y axis by 2-3 pixels (I checked in Affinity Photo). Please see the screenshot below. All textures and proxies are accessible to all machines. Neither the camera, nor any object in the scene are animated. The local host is the machine in my signature and the render servers are 2x Ryzen Threadripper 3970x 32-core. I've had this problem in other scenes as well so I decided to post this thread. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this issue.

    Hi, thanks for posting.

    Are you using X-refs?
Please check if the issue is affecting both slave machines using the VRayDRBucket render element.
Have you tried to reset your render settings to default?
Change the adaptive lights to full lights evaluation or light tree.

Hi Vladimir. I found out what the problem is! The road had a modifier stack with a few modifiers. After collapsing all the modifiers, the DR slaves rendered the road correctly. So it appears that V-Ray couldn't pass the geometry correctly to the DR slaves for some reason. Would you like me to send you the scene to debug it?

        Hi, great news.
Would you like me to send you the scene to debug it?
I am not sure that exactly this issue as you described it is a V-Ray fault. But please send us the scene if you can.
        We will look into it.
