      are those preview scenes accessible somewhere? as a .vrscene maybe?

      with triplanar mapping especially it is hard to read the preview.

        Yes, it's located here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\VRay3ds Max2024\assets

          VRay_Preview_Bake_Scale=1
          what I should be editing in the .vrscene file?

            Yes, however, I'm unsure if it's designed to be manipulated. Values below 1 don't seem to do anything. I'll ask around.

                Is there a reason not to use IPR? We ask this because, even if you adjust the preview scene to show the TriplanarTex that does not ensure the result will be adequate for the object-to-render. Also, if you adjust the UVs for one shader, that would not necessarily work for other shaders (no perfect value). Not many people ask for this, so it's better to discuss the pros and cons of having such adjustability.

                  To be honest a per-meterial preview uv-tiling adjustment wouln't be unwelcome...

                    sure, modifying the preview .vrscene would be partial solution. IPR is fast but mat preview is faster. VRay introduced quite a quality upgrade for the swatch a while ago but it is missing some functionalities of native 3ds max one (scale - although quite limited and preview options for cylinder and box).

                    UV tile scale adjustment per preview ranging from 0.01 to 100 would obviously be perfect.

                      IPR sure, if it would be stable or didn't update if I farted, but it's not.
