  • Render Servers

When I return to a scene, the render servers are gone, and the local host is unchecked. I think this happens just with GPU setups.

No issues on a fresh scene. Have you managed to reproduce it?

It continues here. It is the network dialog resetting to no local and some default IP.

Could be a bad DHCP setup. Is it ending up with a 169.254.x.x address? Check your dhcp server/ reboot your router.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to my router.

Are you using Vantage for this scene ? IIRC that what happens when you start Live Link with Vantage

It looks like it is trying to connect to 127.0.0.1 as the REMOTE server. That IP is for your own machine (localhost). Check the IPs or DNS entries for the remote machine in your distributed render settings. Maybe your router does something silly like return 127.0.0.1 instead of NXDOMAIN when a dns lookup fails? If you are not a DNS master then easiest is probably to use IPs for everything and assign them manually on each machine.

Yes, I set it manually. It renders just fine, but when I open the model back up, it'll return to what you see.

if you started Vantage even for one time in this project scene it will remove your servers from the list and set up the distributed rendering settings as showing in your screenshot to communicate with Vantage .
it is of course undesirable, because you will lose all your render servers . so I'll consider this as a bug that's need to be fixed .
