Hi, thanks for posting. Are you rendering animation? What are you using, GPU or CPU? What are your 3ds Max and V-Ray versions? Could you send us a video of the flicker?
The matte shadows have always had a bit more noise compared to the rest of the image. Please check this recent thread about it.

      Hi, thanks for your response,
      Vray update 2.1(6.20.06 build 00000) max 2024 26.2.5.192
Its happening in both CPUand GPU no animation no GI, just a teapot on a shadow catcher plane and a dome light color white, its not a grain issue, attached video.
      Thanks

Hi, I am not able to reproduce this issue. Are you using default render settings? If not try to reset them. Please share the scene here or through the support contact form for review if you can't manage on your own.

In the "Image sampler" section of the V-Ray settings, turn on the option "Lock noise pattern". This should stop the flickering.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

Thanks so much Vlado, that was it.)) I thought that the lock option was for smaller scale noise.
                Best.

Yes, it is related to the noise pattern but the matte/shadow calculations are a bit weird and cause some minor correlations between the random numbers to show up in unpredictable ways. I haven't yet figured out a good way to resolve this; it might be a good idea to try again soon.

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

Is the issue related to this post and the fix is the same?

                    Best regards
