  • V-Ray 7 render extremely slow

    Hi,

I have a scene, no matter how I set it it still took 4-5hours to render a 2500px image. I have tried set it to:

    Min:1
    Max:24
    Noise:0.01

    (8h 24m render time)

    Min: 1
    Max:32
    Noise: 0.05

    (4h 40m to render time)

    I change it to

    Min:1
    Max:64
    Noise:0.05

    (4h 32m to render time)

The scene have 80% glossy reflection material.

Attach image is Min:1, Max: 64, Noise: 0.05 setting samplerate element, it still rendering.

ps: forgot to mention, i am using batch render for this project

What's the render time difference between V-Ray 6 and V-Ray 7? Since you're using a lot of glossy shaders, try avoiding making them fully reflective or glossy, since this increases render times (i.e. make glossiness 0.95 and use a slightly less white color for reflections).

Also, reduce the reflection depth to as low as you can get away with ~3-6 perhaps.

But using metalness reflection should be white color, right?

Will give a try, if not every time client asking for changes, it need 4 hours to render single, 3 views, it take 12 hours.
