your ram limit isnt due to not having neough ram. you can buy 16gb ram doesnt make a difference since windows xp only takes up to 2gb ram per application and 3gb ram per application with the switch on (my supermicro mobo can take up to 16gb ram i only wish i could stick 64bit chips on it then load on win xp 64 hehe. my boxx only takes up to 4gb ram)

don't forget.....
that green line in the task manager is NOT your memory. it's your Page file memory which is your physical hard disk. This would be a limit you can easily set manually without the 3gig switch. That would explain the 1.9 and it showing only half way.
