When doing architectural work, I am consistently having a problem lighting my horizontal (site) surfaces. When lighting looks good for the building, I always get washed out overbright site surfaces. I almost always have to render all sitework separately in order to adjust the lighting to it and composite. I generally use a directional light with Vray shadows and a bit of Vray environment fill. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks. Harold

you could always put the horizontal surfaces materials in a vraymtlwrapper and then lower the receive GI.
But yeah if you could post a render of the problem that would be very helpfull.
Upload it here if you dont have any webspace.

I don't see any shadows. Could this be causing it? Also, are you using any environment light?www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.
