  • I can see that nobody has had this issue for a long time but it's got me ready to jump off a cliff. Spawner keeps opening and closing the dummy max window. It does it on 3 different computers. It worked on one pc on the first day I got 3.5 - did several renderings and it worked great. Since then can't get it to run on anything.

Could it be a licensing issue? When I render something and I check the license online it shows that I am using a render node and not the interface. Is this normal?
You may as well be doing something while you're doing nothing.

    • After playing with it all afternoon I cannot get a backburner render going. Is there any other way to get the files Spawner needs setup? When I try to run a network render I get an error that it can't find backburner. It says there is no backburner or the environment path is wrong. Well it is definitely installed and the path is correct, but it's a no go.

      • Have you tried running a render through backburner first to see if it helps?

        Best regards,
        Vlado

        • Thank you for your help Vlado. That's my issue now. I can't get backburner to run once. It tells me the system path is wrong or backburner is not installed. I've quadruple checked and the path is correct. When I uninstall backburner I get a totally different error so I know it knows it's there. So I'm sure it's an Autodesk problem and not a vray problem, but any thoughts from somebody who is much more adept at backburner than I am? I had never used backburner before but have read a lot this weekend and tried lots of different things with the manager/server/monitor including command line options to no avail.

Could you please tell us/send us exactly what is the error message which appears when trying to use Backburner or uninstall it? Please confirm what is the version of Backburner and did you tried to uninstall 3ds Max and Backburner and re-install it again -
3ds Max and Backburner included? Also please confirm what is your dongle SN or username tied to your V-Ray license, so that we can check exactly what is your license and help you further.
