problems installing vray 1.461570 on Max 8

Sorry if this is a noob question, but Im not too interested in installing stuff, just want things to work ,and ususally people here do it for me, but this time Im in a hurry.

I Recenty upgraded my computer from Win2000 and 3DsMax7 to XP and 3DsMax8. When I try to reinstall my vray licens with my old codes it doesnt function (and also I get a message that my version is
too old and might not function with max. I have not received any uppgrades on Vray but are off course interested in those if available. I took for granted that there were no upgrades. I do NOT get a request code when installing even though the installer claims everything to be fine.

The earlier 3DsMax-installation was on another drive. I have deleted vrayfiles from there.
offcourse I have emailed chaos on the subject but I really need to get on with production now.

the new computer your currently installing on have the EXACT same network card as the previous setup?

If not then you will need a new code.

Yeah, someone here mentioned that too...its all the same hardware. strange.

Now I have managed to find the request code.

the old authorization code doesnt work.

hmmm that is strange.. it "should" work fine.

I guess its somehow also tied into the OS and Max version.

send an email to the chaosguys with your request code as you will probabaly need to get a new auth code.

send the email to vray@chaosgroup.com and explain exactly what you have here. and include your request code.

Actually I have sort of spammed with all the login details/receipt numbers and requestcodes to the adress you mentioned.

When did you send the emails? just so they can make sure they havnt replied already.. also what email address did you send it from? (use AT instead of @ to stop any SPAM)

so, can I get your opinion on upgrading to 1.47 ? Im very happy with 1.46 so long and Im also scared of compatibilty problems.

Yeah the upgrade should be a fairly pleasant one. You should notice faster render times and a few new features (i think) its been awhile since i compared the 2.

There is no reason not too upgrade as far as im concerned.
