  • problems in Distributed renders respect older versions 1.4x.

I found distributed renders with the 1.5RC2 slower respect sinlge pc calculation in the (building reycast ....) phase of render and during the Lightcache calculation too

If I try to calculate the render on single pc those phases go faster respect distributed way and not a little differences

the older versions 1.4x.xx didn't get those problems how to solve?
SOmeone use a trick I tested on an old scene with QMC+LC Gi method and slow slow render as single pc can get

    Anyone got same problems?
    Thanks in Advance

Maybe this is the same problem as here? See the last post for the solution.

thanks for the reply CLifton but not the same poblem
If the vraymeshes give the same problems as vrayfur could be them
if not I don't know wich is the reason
Maybe I need to reset vray changing the rander engine with scanline and then re-choosing the vray engine and try to re render to see the differences?

      bye and thanks in advance

Do you get the same result if you do a DR render on the client machine only (e.g. no render slaves)? Also, is your main machine a single or dual processor one?

In general, the main machine has more work to do in DR mode (e.g. sending the scene to the render slaves and keeping the communication with them) so it may be normal that it renders a bit slower in that case.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

the main machine has an amd 4800 x2 cpu as cpu I use it to lunch the DR with the others
and I don't know if I'm clear in explanation (my english is bad) if I calculate the scene only with this machine the first part of the render (building raycast..) is faster some second if I use it as main machine in DR mode with other pc's (one is HT and one normal P4) i got this part of the render much much slower respect single machine calculation and as this the LC calculation in DR become very very slow
In DR I mean with vray spawner not backburner(i never used this last one)

thanks for the reply and thanks in advance

Ok, since I can't reproduce that here, I have some more questions: does this happen on any scene or on some particular scene only? Do you use the "Low thread priority" option in the System panel?

            Best regards,
            Vlado

              Thanks for the reply Vlado
If it is not by default I did not checked Low thread priority
              no dynamic memory used
to describe a little better the kind of scene Is an exterior and in the scenes there are vraymeshes for cars (high detailed cars) and displacement for grass and some walls and for roof tiles too instanced copies of some objects and grouped objects
thanks again and thanks in advance

Ok then; if just as a test, you try a different, simpler scene, do you still get this?

                Best regards,
