  • white splotches

This has been happening and the wierd thing is, it occcurs in a different place on different views. It seems to take a very long time when it hits the splotchy area

Tha mats have a bitmap in diffuse and bump and there's a fresnel falloff. I'm running 1.5 rc2 and LC / LC for testing

Any ideas and a fix for it? Otherwise I'll have to try and pshop it out

I did have some as well, showing up pretty much at random.
The material it showed up on was a Glossy Reflective one, with Raytraced Reflections turned off.
Camera was a PhysCam, sun and sky were at 1.
Looks like some HDR sillyness to me...
    And i PSd it out.

Re did the offending areas twice and stl checked it the last time with 0 errors and it still was doing the splotches.

I had an adea and I moved the sun. After a couple of different placements no more problem. Is this a possible sun bug?

              any errors in the vraylog?

... I guess it could be a sun bug, but I doubt it, would have shown its face before now I would have thought

You have too much free time

Maybe it's because of LC ? Maybe sample size is too low/high ? Try PPT mode. Or turn clamp on.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

If you move the sun, do the spots move as well? If yes, then these are simply highlights/reflections from the sun/sky.

                      Best regards,

                        really doesnt look right tho.
And i would have thought that a brick material wouldnt have had any reflection on it.

                          Daforce:
It appears in different places depending on the camera view mate. I redid that particular mesh 3 times yesterday and it still happened.

                          Vlado:

If I move the sun the splotches move as well. At the moment I've move it to a position where it doesnt seem to apper in either of the camera views I posted. I have a low fresnel falloff on the brickwork so maybe I should remove it although the brick doesnt look as good without it?

                          cheers

Ah ok.. i just wanted to do some tests and try to solve it/figure it out.

I would say move the camera back to a position that exhibits the splotches then remove the falloff and see if its still there.

Vlado might be right, but it still doesnt look right to me.

Can you post the settings for your brick material? Also, if there is any bump there, try to reduce the amount or to disable it and see what happens.

                              Best regards,
