This is following on from my last post:
http://www.chaosgroup.com/forum/phpB...ic.php?t=17289
I've started a new topic because after further testing, I've realised that the issue has nothing to do with the combination of 64-bit and 32-bit machines. Hope this doesn't break a forum rule.
I cannot use distributed rendering with Max 9. I am running Max 9 and VRay 1.5 RC3 (without a dongle). The client machine starts okay, and the V-Ray messages window says
connected to render host 172.31.1.58
connected to render host 172.31.1.29
Using 2 hosts for distributed rendering
then, after setting up the scene is says
Server 172.31.1.58 Scene loaded: starting render.
Server 172.311.58: Starting frame 725729
Server 172.31.1.29 Scene loaded: starting render.
Server 172.311.29: Starting frame 1152123
warning: Render host unknown (172.31.1.5
not responding
warning: Render host unknown (172.31.1.29) not responding
Shouldn't the starting frame be frame 0 for both servers? And why, when they're not responding, are they suddenly unknown?
Here is the VRay log file:
http://www.palmhousedesign.co.uk/stuff/vraylog.txt
Any help would be much appreciated.
I still have Max 8 installed on these machines along with VRay 1.5 RC3, and DR still works okay with that.
Thanks all
George
