  • Displacement Material and dynamic mesh Broke in RC3

    Hi,

I just noticed that the Displacement map seems to have broke in RC3 when applied to a dynamic mesh. In this case the Displacement map is applied to a realflow dynamic mesh. The first frame always renders correctly however any frames after that are incorrect and are also very slow and sometimes crash. Seems to only occur when the actual number of polys in the mesh is changing.

I did uninstall RC3 and reinstalled RC2 and it worked fine.

The displacement map is a animated noise map and there is a falloff map in the reflection slot.

    Thanks,
    Rod

As a quick follow up. I was able to reproduce this with max objects. It usually crashes within three or four frames.

I have a plane with a dynamic noise on it. I use a volume select to grab the polys at the top of the waves which I then tesselate with the tesselation modifier so that the number of polys is always changing.

    Hope this helps,
    Rod

Yep, this is already corrected; you can email me if you need a fix, otherwise it should be fine when rc4 comes out.

      Best regards,

Great, I think we can work around it for the time being.

Once again thanks for the quick response.
