  • Vray Dirt mesh lines (wire frame)

    Hi.

We have at this point just tried out the new VRay Dirt with 3dsmax9 64bit and at first everything seemed to go flawless.

    Until, we moved closer:
It is a rather polygon heavy scene of a car engine which starts out with an overview and the moves in close to several details of the engine.
In the close-up part, the VRay Dirt map - which is set with a rather low radius- shows the mesh edges as thin flickering lines in the rendering - almost like a wireframe overlay effect.

Unfortunately, I have run out of ideas why that would be and hoped that someone here has experienced and solved such problems.

    Thanks in advance.

well...first guess would be -> engine = CAD-Data = coplanar faces and non-welded meshes = trouble with toon and dirt

      Just a wild guess tho

      Regards,
      Thorsten

We have experienced several strange wireframe artifacts when the scene was too far from the origin... Maybe that's the problem, but might be a shot in the dark.

        Best regards,
        Michael

vray dirt doesn't put up with any shenanigans with regards to mesh cleanliness.
