speckle defect

Why are this speckle effect showing on these triangular shaped glass tubes? The material is nothing special....just a transparent colored glass with reflection. I'm using LC and IRmap. Thanks if anyone can help.

not enough subdivs on the refractive material would be my guess

The glossiness is set to 1.0.....do the subdivisions still make a difference? I thought they counted only when the glossiness is less than one?

what is above the triangle things? a vray light?

yes....I guess I will try uping those subdivisions....though they are already at 24....I do not think I have ever gone higher.
