While checking on the license server today I noticed that the VRLserver service was using about 140 MB and peaked around 180 MB which was really odd because there was nothing on the farm and I was the only person I could find who had used it all day. After restarting the service it returned to under 5 MB.

Do you have any suggestions to what might help us not have to worry so ?

Are you running the 64-bit version of the license server? If not, you can try it - if nothing else, at least Windows will give it more memory if necessary. I am looking at what might be causing this; it may not be memory consumption as such, but a memory fragmentation issue.

No all of our license servers are 32-bit. Thanks for taking a look into what the problem might be. Let me know if you haven't been able to reliably reproduce this and I can see if our IT dept can do some sort tracking.

        Thanks,

just thought i'd add that i'd seen this for the first time recently - after constantly running for something like 200+ days with no errors at all we started seeing buckets slightly mis aligned, then the water mark appear - we reset the license server and noticed that it was on about 250mg of ram.

All fine now though after restarting.....

well I just started using latest vray and I noticed same thing happening. Though it does not happen all the time, often I will start a job and it will be at 2.85 gb (x64) by the time it does frame 20 its already at 3.0gb and through the night it will be over that.

Are you sure this is because of the license server specifically?

no not absolutly sure. Its a very complex scene, an object is getting closer to camera, this could also be why. More tests needed
