  • Photometric Lights in VRay 1.5

I'm working on an interior scene at the moment and I used some Photometric Linear lights. I had to set the intensity of these lights to 4000 lx at 2000cm to get a bit of a result, while in the past, 400 lx at 200cm was enough.

Am I missing something here? I'm using the VRay 1.5 settings for the Sun/Sky and Camera. Could it be that I have to check the "Use 3dsmax photometric scale" tickbox?

I've searched the forum but couldn't really find anything about it.

    -edit-
    Setup:
    Max 9 32 bit, VRay 1.5

    -edit 2-
The same goes for VRayLights by the way. A multiplier of 1.000.000 (!!!) starts to give a little result!

What is your system units scale? Are you using the V-Ray physical camera or a normal camera?

    Best regards,

Then you should check the "Use 3dsmax photometric scale" option, yes. You may also need to adjust the camera parameters (f-stop, shutter speed, film ISO).
