we're you using lightcache or Brute Force as secondary bounce? i'm noticing a much larger difference in lighting than previous releases, not sure if that is a cause?

(Edit: nope, that's not the cause. but is it interesting tho.)

Ive always had this, I just thought it was because vrays GI has a harder time getting through objects, no matter how transparent.

Right click your glass object, go to vrayproperties and uncheck 'visible to GI'

I've had the same problem, Affect shadows is on, as is Refractive GI Caustics etc, light portal just outside the window, and no light coming in. Very odd...
Is this a bug in SP1?

I'll try merging into new scene.

OOOPS.... I'd hidden the wrong glass object in the Material Overide Exclude. Please ignore me.

Looks like the glass was casting a shadow?

                  never had this problem.
when use solid glass (glass railings for exampl) I use IR = 1.2-1.5 plus fog color at 0.05-0.1
when using sigle poly (for example glass on windows) - then IR = 1.05
                  affect shadows - always on
